This Apple Investigation activity is great for young and older students, alike! Students will be investigating apples and learning more about them through a fun hands-on activity.

Sections of the Apple Investigation Activity:
- How the apple looks: students will color and draw markings to represent how the apple they are observing looks.
- How the skin of the apple feels: does the apple feel bumpy like a walnut or smooth like a piece of paper?
- Sink or float experiment: students will watch as the apple is dropped into a container of water. They will find out if an apple sinks or floats when placed in water.
- Apple height: using snap cubes, students will determine how tall the apple is.
- Apple seed counting: with your help opening the apple, students will investigate the apple to see how many seeds were contained within. (Kids love this part!)
- Apple taste test: this section will put your students’ taste buds to the test. Which apples do they like or dislike?
There is also a shortened version of the apple investigation activity included. This sheet removes how the apple’s skin feels and the taste testing.
This apple investigation activity would be a perfect way to end a week, discussing apples, or to use on a fun science day!
