Pin Poking Activities
Pin poking activities are a fun, simple and effective way to help young children build their fine motor skills. As students carefully push pins along the outlines, they strengthen the small muscles in their hands while also helping to improve focus and control. These activities are easy to set up, quiet to use and work well for independent practice, centers or brain breaks.
There are just a few supplies needed to get started with pin poking:
- Push Pins or thumbtacks (I recommend the large ones)
- Cork board, cardboard or foam board
- Printed pin poking pages
- A tray or container to keep materials oranized
