Directed Drawings
Directed drawing is a fun and engaging way for preschool and kindergarten children to learn to draw one step at a time. As they follow each simple step, they’ll build fine motor skills, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and gain confidence in their abilities. Watching a picture come together from start to finish gives children a sense of pride and accomplishment.
While directed drawing is a wonderful learning activity, it shouldn’t replace open-ended process art. Children also need opportunities to explore, experiment, and create freely using their own ideas and imagination.
