This ocean letter hunt activity is perfect for any ocean, beach or summer theme. Easy for students to understand and low-prep for teachers!
Students will choose a letter from a sensory bin and then use their dot marker, crayon or other manipulative to cover or color the corresponding letter.
There are three letter mats included in this bundle – an uppercase mat, a lowercase mat and a letter sounds mat.
To set up this ocean letter hunt activity, I used kinetic sand and then buried and placed letters in and on top of the sand. I used dot markers, but you can also use other manipulatives to cover the letters so that the mats can be used over and over again.
If you do not have plastic letters, a set of dolphin letter cards has been included. Simply print, cut and laminate!
This ocean letter hunt activity can grow with your students. Use it for letter matching, letter sounds and then matching lower to uppercase letter or vice versa.
Each mat and the letter cards are offered in both color and BW.
