Practice the alphabet with a sunny beach theme using this Summer Letter Smash Mat! Children will choose a seashell letter card, identify the letter and search for the matching letter on the beach bucket mat. They will then roll a small piece of play dough into a ball and smash it over the letter.
Have children say the letter name and/or sound as they play to add extra alphabet practice. You can also hide the seashell cards in a sensory bin for children to hunt for before matching them to the mat.
Both uppercase and lowercase options are included. Pom-poms, mini erasers, counters and other small manipulatives can be used instead of play dough.
Simply print, cut and laminate the mat and letter cards before use.
