Warm up your winter alphabet practice with this Winter Letter Smash Mat! Children will choose a marshmallow letter card, identify the letter and find the matching letter on the hot cocoa mat. Once they find it, they will roll a small ball of play dough and smash it over the letter.
Encourage children to say the letter name and/or sound while completing the activity. The marshmallow cards can also be placed inside a winter sensory bin for children to find one at a time.
Uppercase and lowercase versions are both included. If play dough is not available, children can cover the matching letters with pom-poms, mini erasers, counters or other small manipulatives.
