These fun zoo dough mats are a great way for kids to work on fine motor and counting skills.
With 12 fun zoo animal images to choose from, kids will roll, press and shape their dough. Once finished, they’ll read the number on their zoo animals dough mat and “smash” or cover that many items. Combining play with learning.
These mats are perfect for working with play dough. They are printed two per page and there are 2 file choices to choose from.
File 1 consists of 2 of the same zoo animal mats per page. This would be ideal if you’d like each student to work on the same dough mat.
File 2 consists of 2 different zoo dough mats per page. This is perfect for using in centers or if you are printing to keep in a play dough tub for free play.
These dough mats would be a fun, hands-on addition to any summer, animal or zoo theme!
To set up the zoo animals dough mats:
- Print and cut out the mats (two mats per page)
- Laminate the mats for durability.
- Provide play dough – either store-bought or homemade.
- Show students how to shape the dough on their dough mat. And explain how to follow the counting instructions. For younger children who aren’t yet reading, guide them to identify the number in the box.
