Practice rhyming words with this simple apple-themed literacy activity! Students will look at the two pictures on each card, say the words aloud, and decide whether or not they rhyme. They’ll clip their answer using a clothespin, adding a little fine motor practice along the way.
The set includes 10 sheets of rhyming cards — 5 sheets feature words that rhyme and 5 sheets feature words that do not rhyme. Simply print, cut and laminate the cards for repeated use.
These cards work well in literacy centers, small groups or independent practice. For children who aren’t quite ready to complete the activity on their own, the cards can also be used as a whole-class rhyming activity. Hold up or project each card, say the words together, and have students give a thumbs up if they rhyme or a thumbs down if they do not.
Included:
- 10 sheets of apple-themed rhyming clip cards
- 5 sheets with rhyming word pairs
- 5 sheets with non-rhyming word pairs
