Practice early counting skills with these simple fish counting task cards designed to strengthen one-to-one correspondence and number recognition. Children will count the fish in each fishbowl and choose the number that matches the quantity they counted.
These cards give children practice touching or pointing to each fish as they count, helping them understand that each object should be counted only once. Once they have counted the fish, encourage them to find the matching numeral and say the number name aloud as they place it on the card.
For repeated use, print and laminate the cards and number pieces. Velcro dots can be added to the cards and numbers so children can easily attach their answers and use the activity again and again.
