Help the rabbit feel better while practicing counting and number recognition! Children choose a number card, count out the matching number of bandages, and place them on the rabbit. Picture cards offer another way to play: children look at the card and add the same number of bandages to their mat.
This activity includes:
- A rabbit mat with a space for a number card
- Number cards from 0–10
- Picture cards showing the rabbit with different numbers of bandages
- Bandage pieces to count and place
Cut out the pieces for play. Laminate them for repeated use, and add Velcro dots to help the bandages stay in place. Use this activity for one-on-one practice, small-group play, or a math center.
Children practice number recognition, counting, and one-to-one correspondence as they match each number to the correct quantity.
